The downloadable versions of my CV were updated to get rid of some formatting problems in the original LaTeX sources. The files can be found in the CV section or downloaded directly using the following links: PDF (Czech, English) and LaTeX source .tar.bz2.
The page showing the restaurants visited by us in Regensburg was updated. It now shows also the approximate price level - from the cheapest (having 1 € sign) to the most expensive (having 5 € signs; so far we have only reached the level 3-4). The names of restaurants covered currently is given at the end of the post, details are available through the link in the beginning of the text.

Die teuersten Restaurants haben 5 Euro-Symbole (bis jetzt haben wir nur Niveau 3-4 erreichen). Die Liste der Restaurants kann man unten finden. Nejlevnější podniky mají 1 symbol €, ty nejdražší potom 5 těchto symbolů (zatím jsme se dostali někam mezi úroveň 3 a 4). The plugin I used for entering the mathematical expressions in the LaTeX format (merely a MimeTeX wrapper) does not seem to work any longer. Therefore, I decided to use different approach (see here). However, this requires some work and changes on the server. It may, therefore, take some time to get the equations back working.
As soon as the problems are solved, all affected pages and posts will be modified.
The Linux installation guide for Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro V3205 notebook is now complete. I added the information on hibernate/suspend/resume functionality, CPU frequence scaling, and powersave options.
The only two features that are not resolved at the moment are FireWire functionality (I have no possibility to test it) and microphone problems (it doesn’t work in Linux).
This is probably the last post of the year 2007.
Since a new version of WP became available yesterday, I decided to upgrade (take it as a celebration of the coming year 2008). Everything seems to work fine, so let’s hope it will not change in the future.

I was finally able to test the integrated card reader in my notebook (actually I had to do it, since I forgot the USB cable for my camera and wanted to transfer to my computer all the christmas photos I took). It worked fine without any problems. Therefore, the installation guide for Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro V3205 notebook was updated accordingly.
O minulém víkendu jsme se jeli podívat do Norimberka na místní (v Německu, ale i ve světě pravděpodobně nejznámější) vánoční trhy - takzvaný Christkindlmarkt. To co jsme vyfotili najdete tady.
Moc toho sice není, ale znáte to přísloví s holubem a vrabcem… Lidí tam byla spousta, ale celkem to stálo za to. Víceméně všechny stánky prodávaly zboží nějak spojené s Vánoci (ne jak v Brně, kde se údajně trhy víceméně zvrhly ve vietnamskou tržnici) nebo případně rúzné pochutiny - svařák, norimberské párečky, …

Among others, the work done during my Ph.D. studies with Pavel Jungwirth in Prague is discussed there. Moreover, one of the figures is coming from our study of proteins solvated in salt solutions.
